I am Thankful: A Faith Based Children's Book Commssion
In I am Thankful we follow a day in the life of a child who is working to embrace and appreciate all the good in his life. This is a really sweet story I was commissioned to illustrated in 2026 and I have a huge amount of fun creating it. The artwork needed to be sweet acessable and founded in realism. I am so proud of the final result and am now finishing up the second book in the series for my client.
A motif throughout the story is the Thankful Jar. Like a swear jar but nice :D Every time you feel something that you are thankful for you can write it down on a note and put it in the jar. Then at the end of the day you can take out a note and remind yourself of things that you are thankful for.
Here is a selection of my favorite illustrations from within the book. Each one includes elements of joy and wonder and I am really happy to have worked on this project. It was also a great test of continuity as the boy character and his friends appear repeatedly through out and each one needed to maintain the likeness.
